- National Night Out
a. What it is - NNO is a chance for us to gather and meet our fellow Community Watch groups. This is an opportunity to bring your family out and enjoy a pot luck dinner at Carolina Pines Community Center. We discussed having activities for the children including tattoo's, id kits, sidewalk chalk, fire truck visit, McGruff, balloons, and maybe a magician. We also talked about contacting the media, maybe Amanda Lamb, to get coverage of this event.
b. What we are doing - The event is from 6:30-8:30 on August 5 at the Carolina Pines Community Center. We will make our suggestions about the events for the kids to Officer Upchurch. We hope that you and your family can make it!
c. Where to get more info - New flyers were made available to the Captains tonight. Look for them in information tubes around the neighborhood. - New Flyers Available
a. Police Activity - The police calls in our area continue to go down. We had 29 calls for the month of June:- Security/Alarm/Property Check - 2
- Prowler - 1
- Investigation - 5
- Loud Noise/Music/Party - 4
- Warrant Served - 3
- 911 Hang-up - 1
- Talk with an Officer - 1
- Vehicle-Accident/Abandoned/Stopped/Assist - 11

- Signs
a. Street Signs - The 4 street signs that we ordered are ready to be displayed in our neighborhood. They are planned to be placed at the following locations: 1 east side / 1 west side of Ramsgate Street, 1 west side of Sierra Drive, and 1 east side of Lawrence Drive.
b. Mailbox Signs - Street signs are in, we have distributed the signs to the captains. Your captain will either deliver to you or you can contact your captain in order to get your pre-paid sign. We do have a few extra signs, please contact Jason Hibbets if you are interested in getting one. The price is still $11.00 on a first come first serve basis. - Set New Dates
a. Next Captains Meeting: August 25, 2003 - 7:30 P.M.
b. Next Meeting: September 8 or 15, 2003 depending on CAC meeting
c. Next Yard Sale: October 4, 2003 - rain date October 11, 2003 - Budget
a. What we have: Current Balance $236.36.
Still looking into getting a group bank account.

Car Wash, Carnival, Yard Sale (Fee collection), Member collection/dues (January), Donations, Corporation Assistance - Ideas for the Watch Program:
Block Party, Stranger for Danger, Baby Sitter Circle, Safe House, Filing for Non-Profit status, drafting articles of incorporation, Welcome kit for new members in our neighborhood, basketball court clean-up (Near Balboa)
