A Block Captain is a voting member* who volunteers to coordinate information to a defined area within the boundaries of this organization.
A Block Captain of the organization shall:
- deliver flyers and notifications to members in their defined area when requested by the officers
- notify the Welcome Committee when a member moves out and/or moves into a new home in the defined boundaries in their respective area
- participate in organizational planning meetings when called by the officers
- when applicable, act as a liaison between members and the organizations officers
Block Captains are the cornerstone of the community watch program. The Captains of the Pleasant Ridge & Ramsgate Community Watch will experience the following benefits:
- get to know your neighbors better
- develop leadership skills
- gain knowledge of community organizating
- have leadership and volunteer opportunities (which always look good an a resume)
- help build neighborhood awareness and crime prevention
- become a neighborhood leader & contact point for neighbors
Definitions
- *A voting member of this Association shall consist of an active member** who is at least eighteen (18) years of age
- **An active member of this Association shall consist of a member who lives within the boundaries of the defined community watch area and provides their Name, Mailing Address, Phone Number, and Email Address (if applicable) to the current year role book.
